Services include, but are not limited to, OT, PT, speech-language pathology, prosthetic/orthotic consultation, equipment evaluation, supply and equipment issue, resource education and referral services.
Referral by a physician is required before initial evaluation. A family member or caregiver is required to stay for all therapy sessions in order to qualify for continued participation in the program. This allows the family member or caregiver the opportunity to remain actively involved in the recovery process and also establishes a venue for ongoing follow-up, prevention, referral and access systems.
In addition, the clinic provides a “pool” of patients for educational courses and research endeavors. This creates a practical educational environment for student affiliates and staff.
